Chapter 6 -> What I'm Tryna Say Is That I Love You.. Part 2

Her pillows were damp from crying herself to sleep. She shivered as the evening breeze caressed her skin. Slowly her eyes  fluttered open, She had left the patio doors wide and a soft, quiet rain fell outside. She closed her eyes again taking a deep breath before getting up to go close them. She walked into her bathroom and turned the shower on allowing it to run while she undressed. She looked at herself in the bathroom mirror. Her eyes were puffy and red. She let out a deep sigh before walking over to and stepping into the shower. She stood there for a minute just letting the water beat down on her face. After her shower she wrapped her body in a baby pink towel and head out. After putting her underwear on she walked to her closet to find something comfy. She came across one of his shirts. he had left it in her room a few morning sago by accident, while double checking a bag he had some things in for a show she was doing. She took it down and ran her fingers over the soft material before deciding to put it on the head back to bed.

At 2am she sat up in bed hugging her pillow. It was pouring outside. The thunder was horrible and the lightning just made it scarier. She was just about to reach for her phone when it vibrated. It was him. She wasnt sure if she wanted to answer so she held it just looking at the caller ID until it stopped. She closed rested her head on her knees

Nicki: why are you doing this to yourself?

She whispered in the dark. He phone rang again. She pressed the answer button and put the phoned to her ear but didnt say a work.

SB: hello... *sigh* i know you hate it when the weather is like this so Im gonna come by keep you company.. ok

Nicki: NO! Im fine really

The thunder roared and he heard her gasp tryin her best to hold the scream he knew really wanted to come.

SB: Nicki Im not takin no for an answer, I know you're scared... Im almost there.

He hung up before she could protest again.

He was there 15 minutes after they had spoken. She heard a light knock on her open door and his frame as he walked in. The only light in the room was from the flash of the lightning. He walked over to her bedside and sat.. He touched her face gently, her eyes were still a bit puffy.

SB: you been crying?/

She didnt respond she just closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She kept them closed. After stroking her cheek several times with his thumb he bent her kissed right where her dimple would for. His lips sent electricty through. A jolt so powerful she wondered if he felt it too.

SB: Im going to make you some chamomile tea and then you get some rest.

He got up, went around the bed a turned the lamp on that side on dim before walking out the room. A few minutes later he returned with a tray. A cup of tea on it and a container with honey.

Nicki: thank you

She said in almost a whisper. He waited in silence for her to finish, his face to the balcony doors. He would glance at her every now and then. She replaced the cup on the tray and he picked it up.

SB: did you eat? of do you want me to make you something?

Nicki: yes and no thank you

She lied. In fact she hadnt ate all day.

SB: ok... Ima take these down and double check the doors and the alarm system i'll be back

He said before walking out. He didnt believe her when she said she had ate but he knew there was no point arguing about it. Not while she was like this.

When he came back she was getting back into bed. He stopped in her door. He thought of how sexy she loked in his shirt, about why she was wearing it. When he finally snapped out of his trance he spoke

SB: I'll be in my old room if you need me

He was about to walked away when she spoke

Nicki: wait.... stay... please

There was a moment of silence before he walked in to her room, to the other side of the bed. took his shoes off and lay there. The sounds from the thunder vibrate it the room and he noticed she would pull hers knees up to a fetal position. Then there was a really big one, like an explosion and she screamed hugging her knees to her chest.

SB: Its ok.. its ok

he said moving closer to her as quickly as possibly, She spun around into him and buried her face in his chest. He put his arm around her, she was shaking. He stroked her hair and kissed her head trying to get her calm down. There were a few more big ones before it started o calm down. Maybe now she can sleep. He thought to himself, not realizing that she had already dosed off in his arms. He continued stroking her hair. Everything felt so right.

As she awoke she heard a rhythmic beat and felt her head gently rising and falling. Her hand was across his rock hard abs, one of her legs across and laying in between both of his. She had slept in his arms. A smile crept onto her lips and he felt it but he didnt want to startle her so he kept still. She ever so carefully lifted her head and looked up at his face. So handsome when he's sleep she thought. She put her lips to his chest and kissed it softly hoping he was too deep in his sleep to feel it. She took her thumb and lightly started tracing over his lips. He kissed it and opened his eyes. Her hand flew back back and she apologized

Nicki: Im sorry

she said looking away.

SB: you dont have to apologize.

She sat up and tucked a few strands of loose hair behind her ear, her head down looking at her blanket. He sat up behind her.

SB: Why is it so hard for you to admit it Nicki?

She opened her mouth to respond but didnt

SB: your whole attitude since it happened, wearing my shirt to bed after kicking me out, waking up smiling and kissing my chest because you thought I was asleep, running your finger over my lips I know Nicki. But why is it so hard to say? All you have to do is say it and it can happen

Nicki: THERE'S NOTHING TO SAY SAFAREE!!

She yelled at him before he could finish, threw the covers back and head to the bathroom slamming the door behind her. He just shook his head.

SB: Fine!!

He said before getting up putting his shoes on and leaving. He didnt even tell her he was gone.

1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4. No text, no phone call, nothing. She would hesitate every time she took up the phone to call him and end up not making the call. So she found herself another night in bed, his bed, crying herself to sleep.

Reluctantly he put his key in the front door and opened it. He stepped in closing it and disarming the alarm. He looked around for a bit moving to the stairs shortly after. He just wanted to get some more of his clothes to take back to his new apartment. He walked the hallway and stopped at her door undecided as to whether he should knock or not. He chose not to. He walked the rest of the hallway to his old bedroom door nd pushed it open.As he walked in he heard sniffling and looked over to see her curled up in his bed. He walked over to her and got up on the bed. He pulled her close. Slowly her hand snake around him,. He looked down at her and using his hand he raised her head but she she avoided his eyes. He used his thumb to wipe away her tears. He brought his face closer to hers

SB: You really need to stop this

he whispered against her lips

SB: It doesnt have to be like this

He said again they were both breathing heavy. She looked into his eyes and he kissed her softly before pulling away again. She raised her hand to his cheek and caressed his face. She opened her mouth to say something but looked down from his eyes to his chin and just licked her suddenly dry lips. As she looked back to his eyes and was about to speak again his phone rang

SB: Hello

She heard a females voice ask him if everything was ok

SB: yeah.. I'l be down in a few.... Im sorry what were you going to say Nic?

Nicki: ummm...

The words choked off a she began to cry again. She pulled away from him got up and ran out the room..
