Chapter 16 -> All From Your Body Language Pt 2

Candi: did I stutter? I said on her way to the airport

Lauren: Nicki what happened?

Nicki: We argued, I apologized Its not that serious

Candi: obviously more serious than you think for her to pack up and leave without telling you she was.

Lauren: Ima bet you said some shit. You and your big mouth

Nicki: Lauren don’t even start with me *rolls eyes*

She got her phone and dialed her mom’s number. It rang out to her voicemail. She tried three more times still no answer

Nicki: is she really gonna do this right now?

Lauren: just let her go Nic caus you know no matter what if it is as serious as to make her leave she’s not coming back no matter what you say to her. Nicki sighed and ran her and through her hair..

Nicki: ok

Candi: cheer up boo. Take a shower and meet us downstairs

Nicki: yeah I'll do that

Lauren: by the way where's Jhené?

Nicki: you haven't seen her?

Candi: obviously not

Nicki glared at her

Nicki: she’s prolly still asleep I'll go check before I shower

Lauren: now checking does not mean we should hear yo ass up here moaning

Nicki: *smiles* if you don’t wanna hear it cover yo gahtdamn ears

They all giggled as they exited her room, them heading downstairs and Nicki to Jhené's room at the other end of the hall. She knocked before she opened the door and peeked in. Jhené was still all wrapped up asleep. Nicki walked over and got in beside her a smile crept on Jhené's face. Nicki pecked her lips

Nicki: whoa!! *places her hand on her forehead* my baby's running a fever?

Jhené copied Nicki's action with her own hand

Jhené: feels cold to me? I'm fine

Nicki: No you're not. I’m calling my doc

She made to get out the bed

Jhené: Nic you don’t have to I'll be fine. It's just a little fever *puts her hand around Nicki's waist*

Nicki: You sure? I mean you were fine last night? So..? I dont get it.

Jhené: It's not sudden I've been feeling a bit sick since the day before yesterday. I just didn’t say anything

Nicki glared at her.

Jhené: I'm sorry I didn’t think it would get this serious

Nicki: Im calling my doc and Ima ask him to come take a look at you.

Jhené: Babe please just… *sigh* You aren’t gonna give up on this doctor thing are you

Nicki: nope!

Jhené: *sigh* ok if I’m not feeling better by 3 o clock then you can call him but not a minute before that

Nicki: Fine. *kisses her*

Jhené pulled away

Jhené: babe what if its contagious?

Nicki: I don’t care

Jhené: well I do. I don’t want you getting sick too.

Nicki: one last kiss?

Jhené kissed her briefly and she smiled.

Nicki: Oh Candi and Lauren are here. Ima shower and meet them downstairs. They were asking for you

Jhené: ok. What about your mom?

Nicki: She left this morning

Jhené: wasn’t she supposed to be leaving on Tuesday?

Nicki: yeah... *sigh* It’s cool though don’t worry about it. She'll be ok

Jhené: maybe it would help if I talked to her?

Nicki: trust me you do not-

Jhené: Nicki... Please

Nicki: ok after the girls leave I'll give you her number and you can give her a call

Jhené: no… face to face

Nicki just looked at her

Jhené: I'll fly up to New York or whatever it takes but I don’t wanna do it over the phone

Nicki: I'll think about it

Jhené: ok. Now go shower.

Nicki: wanna join me *smiles*

Jhené: hmmmm… ok and you better behave

Nicki: you shouldn’t even have to think about that! And I can’t promise but I'll try *giggles*

They went back to Nicki's room with her and they head for the bathroom. She was shivering like crazy and Nicki noticed it. She turned the hot water on and let her step in first.

After their shower they got dressed and went downstairs to find Lauren and Candi. Jhené had Nicki's blanket over her and settled down on the couch in the living room as Nicki went to get food and find the girls in the kitchen. She got food for her and Jhené, Lauren and Candi had started on the liquor. She just shook her head at them

Candi: what?!

Candice said after seeing what she had done

Nicki: Nothing.. Y’all coming?

Lauren: Do you see us fucking??

Candi almost choked on her vodka and burst out laughing

Lauren: *giggles* I’m playing. Why don’t you eat in here? Where's Né?

Nicki: She in the living room. Not feeling well

Candi: Is it bad

Nicki: Don’t know I'm not a doctor Candice!!

She said as she walked off. The girls followed her. When she got back to the living room Jhené looked to be asleep. She checked her temperature again with the back of her hand and felt she had gotten warmer. She was really starting to get worried. She used Candi's phone and called her doctor asking him to come take a look at her. Nicki brought their food back to the kitchen she couldn’t eat any more and she didn’t want to wake Jhené.

Lauren: She just got sick all of a sudden?

Nicki: No she told me she hasn’t been feeling well since the day before yesterday

Candi: I really hope it’s not bad.

Nicki: *sigh* yeah me too

Lauren: How long before doctor Cartier gets here?

Nicki: an hour and a half

Jhené: babe *lifts hand top throat* I told you *swallows* I don’t need a doctor

She was hoarse

Lauren: I see you two have something in common. The stubbornness *shekes head*

Nicki rolled her eyes at Lauren

Jhené: Babe.. Some water.. Please

It came out as a mere whisper

Candi: I'll get it

Nicki: Thanks Can.. And you no more talking. The doctor is on his way.

Dr Cartier came and examined Jhené. He told them it was Laryngitis. He asked that she come in for further check up the next day to make sure it was just due to an over use of her voice and not viral. He also told her to get some Tylenol and drink lots of fluids.

**Later that evening**

Nicki was in the Kitchen making her spaghetti when she heard the boys come in through the front door and from the laughter she knew it wasn’t just Safaree and her little brother. Her cooking led them straight to the kitchen. Safaree walked over and hugged her from behind then kissed her neck. It was then that she realized she hadn’t thought about him much today.

Safaree: hey baby

Nicki: hey

 She responded dryly and he took notice. He didn’t acknowledge it he just walked to the fridge grabbing bottles of water and tossing them to the guys before they all walked back to the living room. Nicki rolled her eyes. She grabbed a plate because the food was almost ready and put it on a tray. She got a fruit juice from the fridge for Jhené and a bottle of Dasani for herself. As she was turning the stove off Caiah walked in

Nicki: you ready to eat

Caiah: no I wanna eat when SB is eating

Nicki: *rolls eyes* whatever

She said just above a whisper Caiah just looked at her for a moment before walking back out.  She went upstairs from the back stairway avoiding having to walk through the living room and went up to Jhené’s room.

Later that night as she got out the shower she heard Safaree walk into her room. She wrapped a towel around her and walked out the bathroom. He was sitting on the bed removing his jewelery she didn’t say a word to him just got her lotion and sat on the opposite side of the bed.

Safaree: I’m gonna fly up to New York with Macaiah on Tuesday

He said without looking around at her

Nicki:  EXCUSE ME?!!

SB: I promised your mom I’d fly up with him besides I wanna go see my mom so I figured I’d just do it then

She got up and turned around looking at him

Nicki:  I HAVE A FUCKING SHOW ON TUESDAY!! YOU KNOW THAT!! SO I DON’T GIVE A FUCK WHO YOU MADE A PROMISE TO IF HE CANT FLY BY HIMSELF THEN HE’S GONNA DAMN WELL WAIT UNTIL YOU’RE FUCKING FREE BEFORE HE CAN LEAVE!!

SB: he has school

Nicki: I DONT GIVE A FUCK!!!

SB: really?!! wow now you’re just being fucking selfish Nicki!! It’s your fault anyway so why the hell you mad at me?? I wasn’t the one who made my mom feel uncomfortable telling her it’s my house and Ima do as I please in it! Its not like you need me around here anyway you have Jhené!! She’s the one getting all your attention so tell you what Nic let her go with you to the show..

She looked at him like he was stupid and opened her mouth to yell but stopped herself. She turned to face the large mirror on the wall

Nicki: Get the fuck out my room Safaree.. and while you’re at it get the fuck out my house

He looked at her then looked at the floor

SB: Ni-

Nicki: JUST GO!!!

They were sitting watching  a late movie when Macaiah walked down the stairs. Safaree still hadnt come back. 

Nicki: its minutes to twelve why are you still up?

Caiah: Nothing... Is SB back?

Nicki: Go back upstairs and go to bed Macaiah!!

Caiah: Fine

he mumbled and head back up.She really didnt mean to be so harsh to him

Jhené: Nic you-

she started off in her groggy voice

Nicki: I dont wanna hear it

she snapped. Jhené let out a sigh leaned her head to the left and ran her hand through her hair. Nicki turned to her

Nicki: so what now you gon be mad at me too?

Jhené: Babe I-

Nicki: Just...

She got up and walked away. Jhené got up turned the tv off and head upstairs to the bedroom she was staying in.

The next morning Jhené was due at the doctors. She got up took a hot shower and got dressed. She didnt want to bother Nicki, she knew she wasnt in a very good mood from the night before so she left her a note to tell her where she was before leaving.

Macaiah was sitting in the tv room watching cartoons and talking to his mom on the phone. Nicki had just come down to look for him because she had gone to his room to apologize but he wasnt in there. As she approached the TV room she heard him talking she peeked in on him

Caiah: Noooo. I wanna come back today please...................... But I can fly by myself.................... Why can't you ask Jelani to come get me then?.................. because... fine!............. SB's isnt here................ I heard them arguing and she told him to leave........................................ but mom............pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssseee........................ ok.. ok love you too. Im going to go pack now... k bye..

He turned the tv off got up and turned around to see Nicki standing there with a look of hurt on her face. He didnt say anything just stood there. 

Nicki: so Jelani is gonna come get you? 

He didnt answer he just looked at her. They stood there silent for a few minutes then her phone started to ring, she looked at the caller ID it was her older brother as she answered Macaiah head out the room. 

After speaking with Jelani Nicki head to the kitchen to make breakfast. As she ate she read over the note Jhené left her. 

Sorry for leaving without you seeing me first but I didnt wanna wake you. I know you havent really been in a good mood since last night and I didnt wanna be responsible for you waking up in that mood this morning. I'll let you know what the doctor says as soon as I'm done. *kisses*

PS. Ima head back to my place after my doctors appointment

Nicki sighed. Great now she doesnt want to be around me. She thought to herself. She got her phone out and texted Jhené

Nic: so now what you dont wanna be around me?

It took a few minutes before she responded.

Jhené: what?? babe i never said that.. 

Nic: whatever... what did the doctor say

Jhené really didnt want to make this into a full argument so she just ignored her attitude and responded

Jhené: over use of my voice. he's putting me on voice rest for 2 weeks

Nic: *pouts* all of 2 weeks?

Jhené: :( i know.. but hey it'll go by quickly

Nic: *sigh* i hope. where are you now?

Jhené: the store getting juice. you ok? is SB back? you still being a meanie to your lil bro?

Nic: NO!! Im not ok :'(.. I dont wanna talk about Safaree right now and Caiah is not talking to me. In fact he called mom and is having Jelani come get him today. Guess he hates me now.

Jhené: he does not hate you. he's just a bit upset. Go talk to him and you need to talk to Safaree

Nic: -_-...

Jhené: dont give me that face. Im bout to drive I'll call you when I get home. *kisses*

Nic: kk baby *kisses*

She put the plate in the dishwasher then dialed Safaree's number. It rang straight to voice mail so she hung up and went up to speak to her brother. He had finished packing away his stuff and was sitting reading a book. 

Nicki: hey.. i wanna speak to you for a minute is that ok?

He marked his page closed his book and sat up looking at her.

Nicki: I'm sorry about last night I didnt mean to be mean. I wasnt angry with you but I let my anger get the better of me and took it out on you. I also want you to know that you werent the reason Safaree and I were arguing and Im sorry if you thought that.

Caiah: ok.

Nicki: thats all your going to say?

He looked down. 

Nicki: so apparently Jelani is in Long Beach, he's been since yesterday. He says he'll be by later to get you if you still want to go. He doesnt go back to New York until tomorrow though so you'll have to stay by his hotel with him.

Caiah: ok

Nicki: I'm gonna go get ready to go to the studio. I made breakfast, your fave *half smile* so you can eat until its time to go.

Caiah: I already had cereal and orange juice

Nicki: Oh.. ok

When Nicki got back to her room she couldnt help but let the tears run down her cheeks. She head for the shower and when she got in she stood letting the water run down her face as she held her breath. To say she was hurting was an understatement.

(Monday)

 Macaiah had gone back with Jelani and she was at rehearsals for her performance tomorrow. Safaree had come by the house but only to pick up stuff and just like he came without speaking to Nicki he left.

Nicki: ok guys take 10 then we start again from the top.

she told her dancers and the rest of the crew. Jhené wrote her a note as they walked back to Nicki's dressing room.

Jhené: You were great baby!! :) so damn sexy Im mad all those people are going to  get to see you in that itty bitty outfit.

Nicki laughed

Nicki: dont worry baby they aint seeing much.. and after the show tomorrow Ima show exactly what they're missing out on *kisses her* 

After rehearsals Nicki and Jhené went for ice cream and then head back to Nicki's place. When they got there his car was inthe drive way. They went in an he was in the living room layed out on the couch watching football. Nicki head up to shower without saying a word to him. Jhené waved to him and looked in her direction. She said hey just moving her lips and he said hey back before putting his attention bak to the game. Jhené shook her head and went up to find Nicki. 

The next morning it was all hectic. Hair make- up outfits and Safaree and Nicki not speaking to each other. Terrence thought it wise not to interfere until after her performance even though shit was eating at him. The good thing is that even though they were pissed at each other he showed up to support her. When it was time for the show he went on and did what he was supposed to do. Hype the crowd up. But sure enough her real fans knew something wasnt right and a few that got to see her after the show had questions. As much as she hated lying to them she did. She had to. So she told them everything was ok when she knew it wasnt. She knew they didnt believe but she was sticking to her story. After speaking to her fans she head back to her dressing room he was waiting for her by the door. 

SB: may I speak with you for a minute... please

Nicki: ummm sure

She turned to Jhené 

Jhené: *whispers* go ahead I'll wait in the car.

They went into the dressing room and he closed the door behind him. 

SB: i dont know how to say this but... 

He saw the look on her face and thought again about what he was going to say but before he couldnt speak againn she walked up and kissed him

Nicki: *whispers against his lips* dont do this.. please

a single tear ran down her cheek as she gently shook her head no. He took a deep breath and 

SB: Nicki..

Nicki: Faree please 

She felt like her heart was about to stop as he stood there just looking into her eyes.
