Chapter 17 --> Get It Together

He used his thumb to wipe away her tears and she closed her eyes, He pulled her in for a kiss. How could he break up with her? They stood there kissing losing themselves in each other totally forgetting about their argument him forgetting the reason he asked to speak to her. This was what it was supposed to be like.

Meanwhile everyone was getting restless in the car. It had been more than 20 minutes since they stayed behind. Terrence took his phone out and tried calling them both but he didnt get an answer. They waited a bit more. 30 minutes and still no sign of them so they opted to go find them. Jhené was the one to go. She walked toward the dressing room hoping not to find them arguing again and she didnt but she wasnt prepared for what she did find out. As she raised her hand to knock on the door she heard Nicki's moans. She pulled her hand back and held it with the other to her chest. She took a step back, took a deep breath and held it. She closed her eyes and just stood there for a moment before opening them and walking the direction she had just come but she didnt go straight to the car in fact she didnt go to the car at all. She went to the front of the building and called herself a cab.

After not seeing her return after 15 mins Terrence decided to go find them himself. As he got to the door he realized he didnt see Jhené. he knocked. Nicki opened the door her hair a mess and her robe on
Terrence: Whoa!! I see we've kissed and made up
Nicki: Im sorry I'll be out in 5
Terrence: mmmhm.. so this is why Jhené didnt come back.. yall some freaks
Nicki looked at him weird
Nicki: what are you talking about?
Terrence: she came to find you like 15 mins ago...oh shit!!!
Nicki: fuck!!
She said under her breath
Nicki: give me a sec
She closed the door and went in
SB: whats wrong?
Nicki: I think Jhené may have overheard us
She said rushing to get her clothes on.
SB:;; oh...... Nic-
She interrupted him with a kiss again
Nicki: see you back at the house k
SB: Nicki
She stopped waiting for him to say what he wanted to, He thought about the words this doesnt make everything better. I think we need a break. But he ended up saying something else.
SB: dont be too long
Nicki: i wont *pecks his lips*


She left with Terrence and as they walked back to the car she tried calling Jhené after the second ring it went to voicemail. She was ignoring her calls. Nicki sent her a text.

Nic: babe pick up please. I really need to talk to you

She didnt  text back. She called back again. Her friends were all itching to say something to her but for some reason they all held back. She held the phone to her ear looking out the window as it rang

Hello... oh hey what's up?.... really? Well I'm real sorry I can't make it to the phone right now but tell you what  leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Nicki sighed after the voice mail played out and hung up. She just sat staring out the window the whole ride home. When she dot in she went up to her bedroom to shower leaving her friends in the living room.
Lauren: why i get the feeling this is all bout to blow up in her face?
Terrence and Candi chuckled.
Terrence: you aint the only one
he said as he skipped channels looking for something to watch. half an hour later she came down the stairs in sweats and a fitted T. She had her fuzzy house slippers on.
Nicki: Safaree isnt here yet?
Candi: nope!
she responded none of them turned to look at her.
Nicki: I'll be back in a few. tell him to call me if he comes back before I do
She took her car keys up and head out the front door.

When she got to Jhené's place she was hesitant to knock on the door. She kept thinking How do I explain this? And after standing out there for what seemed like five minutes she knocked. The door was answered by an older woman with brown eyes and who looked a lot like Jhené.

Nicki: goodnight, is Jhené in?
Woman: who may I say is here to see her?
Nicki: oh Im sorry. I'm Nicki
Woman: So you are this Nicki Ive been hearing so much about?
Nicki: Only good things I hope
The woman smiled
Woman: Falling too hard for something temporary
She said just looking at Nicki. She was about to ask her what she meant
when
Woman: Im Rose. Jhené's mother. Please come in. It is nice to finally meet you.
Nicki: *smiles* and its a pleasure to meet you. Cant say Ive heard so much about you though.
Rose: oh that is just fine. Let me go tell Jhen you're here. Make yourself comfortable
Nicki sat on the couch fiddling with her fingers. After about 5 minutes she came back out and told Nicki she could go in and speak to her. As she walked in the bedroom door Jhené mumbled something.
Nicki: I know you dont wanna see me but you could at least tell me in English
Jhené rolled her eyes.
Jhené: Im on voice rest doctors orders remember
She said half her words sounding like she was whispering
Nicki: Are you really gonna pull that card with me right now??... Look Im sorry you overheard that b-
Jhené: dont be.. Im glad I did
She said taking a sip of her orange juice
Nicki: dont pull that sarcastic bullshit with me either
Jhené: sarcastic bullshit... *chuckles* wow so much for honesty.
Nicki: look I dont wanna fight with you ok...
Jhené gave her the oh really look
Nicki: I'm just tryna work things out. Its not like you dont know Safaree and I are together you knew that from before we started this relationship. Yeah we might have been upset with each other but that doesnt mean that Ima just break it off with him. couples have arguments
Jhené: I never expected you to break it off with him Nicki!! and yes I expect you two to fuck like any other regular couple would I dont have a fucking problem with it!!! I just told you that yes im glad i over heard and you're gon talk bout sarcastic bullshit! Do you even know why I said that.. Because it was a wake up call for me!! Just a lil reminder that this lil thing between me and you, its temporary!!! There's your sarcastic bullshit!!
She had tears streaming down her face
Nicki: babe-
Jhené: dont!! let me point out where the fucking problem is since you're obviously looking in the wrong direction. firstly your mom who doesnt agree with this whole fling and honestly i respect her cause she has the guts enough to put it out in the open but Safaree is going around with a bitch ass attitude!! Now there is someone who has a fucking problem!! He agreed to this whole thing!! He gave you the go-ahead yet he's up in his feelings about you spending too much time with me!! And did you ask him what his fucking problem is?? No!! He gets some pussy and I'm the one getting the shitty end of the stick!!

She shouldnt be shouting but she couldnt stop herself.  She had her back to Nicki and she just closed her eyes and took a deep breath letting her tears fall. She never wanted it to go like this. She was about to open her eyes when she felt arms wrap around her waist, a her head against her back and heard her let out a sigh.
Nicki: why did you leave?
Jhené: why should I have stayed?
She asked back her voice sounding the worst it had since she's been sick.
Nicki: for me?
Jhené: you didnt need me..
She pulled Nicki's hands down from her waist gently and turned around to face her
Nicki: I wouldnt have had you there in the first place if I didnt
Jhené looked away
Jhené: Nic loo-
She cut her off with a kiss and for a moment Jhené relaxed and was about to lose herself in it but then she pulled away.
Jhené: Nic I can't. *looks her in her eyes*
NIcki: cant what?
She just looked at her
Nicki: I'll talk to him *pecks her lips* and my mom *pecks lips again*
Jhené closed her eyes and Nicki rested her forehead against hers, stroking her cheek with her thumb
Nicki: Tell me what your thinking?
She whispered
Jhené: I need some time.. took think about this
Nicki looked up at her, she thought for a moment
Nicki: ok...

When Nicki got back to the house Safaree wasnt there. Candi was the only one still there Terrence and Lauren had left.
Candi: we need to talk
Nicki: Im not in the mood Candice
Candi: well I suggest you get in it. What are you doing Nika?
Nicki: living my life I'd suggest you do the same
Candi: Im not here for you're smart ass comments this evening Im trying to help you
Nicki: you're making it sound like Im fucking disabled i dont need help
Candi: OMG will you stop picking a fight and just listene!  What the hell has gotten into you?
Nicki: excuse me?!
Candi: you know either way you do this somebody is gonna end up getting hurt. Hell people are already hurt from you bitching out on everybody!
Nicki: if yall dont want me bitching out then stay the fuck up out my business! its that simple
Candi: *shakes head, grabs purse and leaves*
Nicki rolled her eyes. She took her phone out and texted Jhené

Nic: Im home. Miss you already I had plans for us for after the show remember *bites bottom lip*. I was gon show you all the things they couldnt see when you helped me out of my out fit

She smiled to herself and head up the stairs to her bedroom. She removed her clothes then took a picture and attached it to the text then sent it. Her phone vibrated

Jhené: nice to know ur home safe. Good night.

*****************Saturday

Nicki walked down the stairs to where he was waiting in the living room
SB: you look beautiful
Nicki: thank you *shy smile*
SB: ready to go?
Nicki: yup
They were going out for lunch and to finally sit and talk things over. they didnt want to do it at home because they figured they'd only end up arguing so they decided to talk this way. When they got too the restaurant they were greeted by their now favorite waiter Juan. He seated them in a private area and handed them their menus leaving them to decide on what they wanted to eat.

SB: what are you gonna have?
Nicki hadnt even picked up her menu yet she was sitting there looking at him.
SB: you ok?
Nicki: why did you lie to me?
SB: about what?
Nicki: *sigh* Safaree nows really not the time to act stupid you know what Im talking about
He put his eyes back on the menu not answering her question. She grabbed the menu from his hands and put it down
Nicki: we came here so we could talk without arguing dont play with me
SB: I didnt lie to you Nicki
Nicki: then what do you call it Safaree?
SB: Im sorry. Truth is I got jealous and when I saw your mom wasnt all for it I used that to my advantage. I dont have a problem with you seeing her I have a problem with you forgetting about me in the process
Nicki: You were jealous!! and I didnt forget about you Safaree!! Most of whats happened so far is because of your actions. Did you stop to think about how you being all in your feelings would affect everyone else?
Juan came back to ask if they were ready to order and they did. Taking what they usually had whenever they went there to eat. He took their order and left.
Nicki: you've got to be fucking kidding me. Ive known you to be many things Safaree but too pussy to tell me of all persons how you feel about something is totally new.
SB: whatever
he said under is breath
Nicki: thats all you're gonna say?.. who the fuck are you? Maybe your ass needs to go back to New York for a min cause Im not sure who I have sitting across from me right now
Juan returned with their food but Nicki just picked at hers to annoyed too eat. She wanted to shout some sense into him but they were in public so she fought to keep her cool. After forking some of her salad into her mouth she put the fork down
Nicki: Im goin to the restroom she said with an attitude and he could tell she wanted to lash out at him.

When Nicki got to the restroom door she heard talking
Female Voice: Jhen hurry we're gonna be late for your appointment
She opened the door and saw a beautiful blonde standing in front of the sink fixing her hair, she had beautiful blue eyes. Nicki could tell blonde wasnt her natural color. Her hair was bleach icy blonde with black streaks at the extreme back. She noticed Nicki staring and smiled at her through the mirror.
Blonde: Ahh you're Nicki Minaj. I love you like Im a huge fan
Nicki smiled at her.
She was about to walk towards the sink when one of the stall doors opened and Jhené walked out. As she took her first step out she noticed Nicki. The two stood looking at each other?
Nicki: you've been ignoring my calls, texts messages, you'r enevr home when I come over? avoiding me?
Jhené: *sigh* I told you I need time Nic
Blonde: you know each other
They ignored her. Jhené walked to the sink and washed her hands
Nicki: time to think not time start dating someone else
Blonde: whoa!! Jhené you were dating Nicki Minaj
She said in a surprised voice
Nicki: is dating! present tense sweet heart!
Jhené: dont do this right now Nicki
Blonde: Umm-
NIcki: *holds hand up* dont speak
Jhené: Oh My G.. *sighs* Tayihé i'll meet you in the car
Tayihé: bu-
Jhené: just go!
She left rolling her eyes at Jhené before she did.
Nicki: Is that why you wont speak to me?
Jhené: Spending time with my little sister no thats not the reason
Nicki looked away. Jhené walked over to her with her arms open
Jhené : come here *holds her* Im not dating anyone ok. I can barely sleep at nights cause all I think about is you. But you need time to get things together. You need to speak with Safaree your mom, find out where things are with them before we can do this.
Jhené pulled away and held both sides of her face looking into her eyes.
Jhené: you have nothing to worry about Im yours until the day you tell me you want nothing to do with me and probably even after that too *smiles*.. and you've got to stop bitchn out on people ok baby. Ive got to go
She kissed her deeply before leaving. Nicki turned looking at herself in the mirror.
